Miller hands Chris a golden opportunity

THE MILLER Group is backing cyclist Chris Hoy in his quest for Olympic glory in Athens in 2004.

The cycling star, who recently returned from a double triumph at the UCI World Cup Kilo TT in Cape Town, will enjoy training kit sponsorship for the next 12 months from the Edinburghbased company.

Chris took his place among the cycling elite at the World Cup after winning gold in the Men's Kilometre in 1 min 3 sec. Chris also flew the flag for Great Britain by winning the team sprint with fellow cyclists Jamie Staff and Jason Queally.

Chris, 27, has been one of the most successful Scottish sportsmen during the last decade.

He has previously won two World Championships, two World Silver medals and a Commonwealth Gold.

Chris said: 'Knowing that people are behind you is encouraging and I hope it brings me even more success.'

Miller chief executive Keith Miller said: 'With Chris's achievements in the past few years he deserves support from everyone in Scotland.'
