Minister launches drive to stamp out bullying

Anti-Bullying Week begins today with Schools Minister Jacqui Smith warning children and their parents that playground bullying 'will not be tolerated'.
Parents of pupils who attack or threaten their classmates could be fined up to £1,000 under the Government's plans for school reforms, she said.

Ms Smith will launch Anti-Bullying Week following a surge of violent cases in schools.
