Mivan scoops £3.3m hotel deal

Specialist building firm Mivan has snapped up £3.3 million deal to carry out joinery work at the Apex Hotel in Edinburgh.

Work will cover joinery in all 177 bedrooms & corridors, including: wardrobes, headboards, shower screens, skirtings, vanity mirror units, timber flooring, doors & ironmongery, and wall panelling.

Main contractor on the job is Bovis Lend Lease.

The hotel will open in January next year and will provide a major boost to boost the Scottish Executive’s target of an additional 1,500 beds of a four-star standard by 2015.

Located on Waterloo Place at the east end of Princes Street, the landmark building was the first large scale hotel in Edinburgh.
