Liebherr has unveiled the successor to its 250-tonne excavator first launched 20 years ago, promising 15 per cent larger bucket capacity and 42 per cent higher swing torque. The R9250 Litronic is powered by a 12-cylinder, 1,290 hp Cummins engine and its 15 cu m bucket can load an 80-tonne dump truck in three passes. The monster machine has a maximum reach of 15.5 m and a dig force of 780 kN.
