More demand for plant operators

Demand for plant and machine operators has increased while

vacancies for craft workers and skilled agricultural and fishery

workers have fallen, according to a report out today.

Online recruitment firm Monster said there was a 'sharp increase'

in jobs for plant and machine operators and assemblers last month

which was the only occupation category to experience a rise.

The number of opportunities for craft workers fell the most,

continuing a two-month downward trend, the research found.

There was also a decline in demand for skilled agricultural and

fishery workers and a slight slump in vacancies for legislators,

senior officials, managers and clerks which reflected the effects of

falling civil service numbers over the past year, the report said.
