Morgan Ashurst wins student halls contract

Morgan Ashurst has won a £8.5 million contract from Unite Group to design and build new student accommodation and commercial offices in Stepney Green, London.

The site sits above the proposed Crossrail track, so a 600mm-thick concrete slab will be placed under the halls in order to ensure the building remains structurally sound during line construction.

Construction of the four-storey 142-bed student residence is due to be completed in July 2008.
