Morgan Est wins £12m runway work

Morgan Est has won a £12 million contract to resurface the main runway at Edinburgh Airport for BAA.

Work will take place on a night-shift basis and will see 25,000 tonnes of new asphalt laid and the replacement of more than 1,000 runway lights.

The job will start on site in March 2008 and is due to be completed in November 2008.

During this time flights taking off or landing at night will do so from the airport’s second runway.
