Morooka remodels tippers

PLANT

A FLEET of four Morooka 3 tonne tracked dumpers is being used to assist in the remodelling of a 110 m-long section of a platform at Birmingham's New Street station.

After a detailed risk assessment from main contractor Balfour Beatty, the MST300 machines, on hire from MJ Wilkinson of Blackpool, have had their ROPS frames removed. This is to allow them to pass through the existing 1.85 m-high tunnel network below the tracks before tipping the spoil into 15 cu m skips.
