Morpeth seeks firms for £25m bypass

Up to eight contractors are being sought to design and build the £25m Morpeth bypass in south-east Northumberland.

The 3.8 km bypass will link the A1 to the A197 in south-east Northumberland, thereby reducing traffic levels in Morpeth town centre and opening up opportunities for development at key sites.

Morpeth council will hire between five and eight firms to carry out the work.

The deadline for receipt of Pre Qualification Questionnaires is noon on 8 April.

Further details and copies of the Pre Qualification Questionnaire can be found on the online portal,
