Morrison to build £12m Nairn hospital

Morrison Construction has been awarded a contract to design and build a £12 million primary healthcare facility in Nairn in the Highlands.

The 5,500 sq m healthcare facility will be built on the site of the existing Town and County Hospital incorporating the re-development of hospital on behalf of public sector developer Prime.

The scheme which will be a mix of single, two and three storey buildings will feature a 20-bed in-patient unit, A&E and consultancy services, GP surgeries, five dental surgeries as well as social services, paediatrics and a new on-site pharmacy.

Work is set to start this month and will be delivered in two phases as the existing hospital will be required for use throughout the two-year construction period.
