Morrison wins £28m defence PFI

Morrison has nabbed a £28.3 million PFI deal to build and manage 148 detached houses for servicemen and women in Hampshire for Defence Estates.
Wimpey will build the houses on a 6.3 ha plot at the former Royal Naval Air Station known as HMS Daedalus at Lee-on-the-Solent.

The World War II airfield was decommissioned in 1996 and many of the buildings have already been demolished. Morrison's facilities division will maintain the completed houses over 25 years.

Work is due to start immediately, finishing in June 2007.
