MULTIPLEX is set to expand its UK activity further by clinching a £35 million hotel scheme in south London.
The Wembley stadium contractor is negotiating with client St George's Wharf Hotel to take on the project, which will form part of the Berkeley Group's St George's Wharf development in Lambeth.
Gleeson and Bovis Lend Lease were among the early contenders for the project before Multiplex was chosen as the second-stage contractor last month.
The deal follows the Australian outfit's June success - a £90 million deal from developers Marylebone Warwick Balfour and the Manhattan Loft Company to build a 36-storey hotel at West India Quay in London's Docklands.
Multiplex hopes to begin work on the new 409-bedroom hotel in October, with construction lasting two years.
Marriott International will operate the four-storey property.
