New eco-homes for older people

Holywood-based developer Lifestyle Homes has joined up with a local renewable energy firm to launch Northern Ireland’s first timber-framed eco-home.

Gavin Logan, managing director of Lifestyle Homes, first introduced these homes five years ago. Developments are now planned for Ballyhalbert and Groomsport.

The homes, specially designed for over-45s, are set to cut electricity, heating and ventilation costs by up to 68 per cent compared to an average three-bedroom semi-detached dwelling.
