New name, new beginning for access group Pasma

Plant

THE PREFABRICATED Aluminium Scaffolding Manufacturers' Association (Pasma) is changing its name to the Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers' Association. The change comes as theassociation moves from being a manufacturer-led organisation to one that embraces hirers, dealers and trainers as full members.

The association, which represents a sector reckoned to be worth more than £30 million in sales and £60 million in hire, is working on advanced training modules and current European legislation. All members will be able to apply for registration as approved training centres.

Chairman Peter Bennett said 'We have been inward-looking for too long and we now recognise that. We aim to give Pasma an even stronger voice and make it the natural focus for all issues affecting the industry.'
