Newcastle office scheme OK'd

Developer Centreland has won planning approval for a £30 million office scheme in the middle of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The new development will replace the former Westgate House which was torn down last February. It will run across 65,000 sq ft and up to five storeys.

Architect Carey Jones has also designed a retail and restaurant space on the ground floor covering 4,200 sq ft.

King Sturge is sole agent for the scheme, which is known as 44 Westgate.
