Newport City Council has advertised a highways maintenance framework deal worth up to £5.2 million over four years.

Work will cover carriageway resurfacing/reconstruction and associated footway construction and highway drainage.

Around six bidders will be invited to tender for the project valued at an average of £1.3 million per annum. Work will start this April with completion due in March 2011.

Firms have until the end of February 2008 to express an interest.
