NFB launches house builder forum

Trade association the National Federation of Builders has launched a lobby group for house builders to tackle the Government over regulatory, financial and planning issues on behalf of its 800 house builder members.
The Housebuilders Association will launch its first campaign next month calling for a delay in the introduction of Part L of the building regulations following fears that the software will not be ready in time, leaving the industry in chaos.

NFB chief executive Barry Stephens said: 'The formation of the HBA recognises that medium sized and smaller house builders have an agenda that is significantly different in a number of key respects from that of general contractors and large volume house builders.'

The NFB - which is part of the Construction Confederation - represents small and medium sized firms across the UK. The HBA wants to attract members from across the housing industry including private residential developers as well as social and partnership house builders
