Birse has completed replacing two concrete bridges with composite bridges over the A64 York Outer Ring Road.

The £750,000 Highways Agency contract took eight weeks to complete and included demolishing the original 380-tonne bridges in one weekend. The new bridge steelwork was assembled on site and moved into position a week later on trailers aided by sophisticated computer technology.
