Nixon invests

PLANT BUSINESS

Newcastle-based Nixon Hire said it has spent more on its fleet as a percentage of turnover than any of the national hirers. The firm raised turnover by 34 per cent to £16.3 million in the year to December 31, 2005, and spent £6.5 million on its plant fleet.

The firm also claimed to have the largest toilet hire fleet in northern England and Scotland. Director of plant hire Chris Nixon said: 'We are well ahead of our five-year plan to double turnover to £20 million.'
