No claims is good news

AT LONG last the insurance industry is taking a realistic look at construction risk.

During the last insurance crisis demolition contractors, in particular, struggled to get cover almost at any price.

Times have changed. Significant changes in attitudes to health and safety and risk management improvements in the demolition sector have brought insurers back.

Firms with excellent records will benefit from the introduction of a new rebate system similar to a no claims bonus.

Insurance costs are still too high, but at least those with excellent records will not be penalised by the failings of others.
