No fat cats in contracting

THE SALARIES being paid to leading chief executives of publicly listed contractors may look exorbitant to the average person on site.

But it is worth noting the average Premiership footballer boasts a bigger salary than most contracting bosses. Even GPs working at the top of their profession can pick up more than some chief executives.

The fact is the top earners in contracting still lag well behind their counterparts in other UK industries. The most successful bosses in the pharmaceutical and retailing sectors walked away with three times more than this year's highest paid contracting boss. Put into context, contractors are doing well, but not as well as many might think.
