Noise alert

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health has warned contractors that construction will be in the front line when the noise regulations are amended in April.

Firms will be required to monitor noise and to manage workers' exposure, while also providing 'adequate protection from hearing damage'.

It has recommended that all contractors should commission a noise assessment of their sites.
