ODA announces bridge competition winner

The Olympic Delivery Authority has announced the winner of a design competition for a key footbridge at the centre of the Stratford Olympic Park.

Irish architects Heneghan Peng and London-based engineers Adams Kara Taylor were chosen from a shortlist of six.

The bridge will stretch 26m across the River Lea between the Olympic Stadium, aquatics centre and basketball arena.

Legacy works will see temporary sections removed to reduce the width after the games.
