ODA reveals West Ham plans

The Olympic Delivery Authority has revealed plans for West Ham station, a key transport hub for the 2012 Games.

ODA transport director Hugh Sumner said the works will include a temporary walkway leading passengers from the platforms onto the Greenway and towards the Olympic Park, without having to pass through the station itself.

The walkway will span the eastbound track of the District and Hammersmith & City lines and Manor Road. A footpath from the end of the walkway will take spectators onto the Greenway to walk up to the Olympic Park in Stratford.

He added: “We will also make permanent improvements to the station and the surrounding area that will benefit residents and commuters long after the Games.”
