To ensure the longterm sustainability of the village, Chartered surveyor Strutt & Parker, in conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council, produced a Masterplan and Design Guide. These documents have now been adopted as part of the council’s Supplementary Planning Guidance and will form the framework for subsequent planning applications.
The Masterplan outlines the phased, residential development, of which Phase 1 comprises 35 new-build homes. The mill house, cottage and steadings provide refurbishment/conversion opportunities for another five units.
With much of his extensive additional land ownership in the immediate area already earmarked for further development in the future, the landowner may be willing to negotiate selling this land to the buyer of Phase 1.
