OGC misses own targets

The Office of Government Commerce has missed out on three of its targets for improving construction procurement.
Under its Achieving Excellence in Construction initiative, the OGC wanted 70 per cent of Government projects delivered on time, on budget, with zero defects and to customer satisfaction by March 2005.

Figures published this week show that 61 per cent of projects are delivered on budget and 65 per cent on schedule, compared with 34 per cent and 25 per cent in 1999.

The OGC found that only 60 per cent of projects were delivered defectfree, but it achieved its target of 70 per cent client satisfaction.
