O'Keefe creditors chase directors' cars

THE ADMINISTRATORS of failed south London contractor and builders'merchant Dave O'Keefe have launched legal action against the former directors to reclaim their company cars.

BDO Stoy Hayward is getting a court order under the Insolvency Act to seize the three cars - an X-reg BMW 330, an X-reg Nissan Terrano and a J-reg Mercedes - worth more than £24,000.

In an update to the company's creditors' committee, BDO said: 'The directors have refused to return the cars stating that they are owed arrears of wages.'

Dave O'Keefe, based in Colliers Wood, collapsed in September last year owing nearly 750 creditors more than £1.7 million.

Two cars were the property of Dave O'Keefe and the other was owned by group company W R Contracts, where former managing director Steve O'Keeffe and Kevin O'Keeffe were directors.

Steve O'Keeffe, now working for London contractor George Killoughery, said: 'I didn't have a company car and neither did Kevin.'
