Olympics inspectors visit London 2012 venues

Olympic inspectors were today being taken on a whistle-stop tour of the sporting venues where the London 2012 Games could be staged.
By the end of the day the International Olympic Committee's powerful evaluation commission will have travelled to the major London venues earmarked to stage an event.

These include the new Wembley Stadium (football), the Dome (gymnastics), Lord's Cricket Ground (archery), Horse Guards Parade (beach volleyball), Wimbledon (tennis), Eton Dorney (rowing), Greenwich Park (equestrian) and the Excel Centre (boxing/table tennis/weightlifting and martial arts).
