LAING O'Rourke has bagged its biggest ever ProCure 21 health deal with a £57 million win in Bristol.
The firm will build a specialist heart centre for United Bristol Healthcare Trust near the current Bristol Royal Infirmary.The complex will include laboratories, a theatre and over 80 beds.
Construction work on the project, which is the second biggest ever let under the initiative, will begin next year and finish in 2009.
One Laing O'Rourke insider said: 'The value may increase dramatically, as is the nature of the ProCure 21 process.'
The biggest ProCure 21 contract is a heart centre being built by Norwest Holst in Liverpool, predicted to cost £70 million.
