Osborne in at Osborne

ANDREW Osborne has formally taken over running the business set up by his father.

Mr Osborne has been acting chief executive of West Sussex contractor Geoffrey Osborne since March last year, when he succeeded Nick Yandle.

Oxford University-educated Mr Osborne is highly regarded at the firm. One insider said: 'He's very intelligent and has a good financial brain on him.'

The business hit the headlines last year when it was set to appoint former Amec construction boss Steve Bowcott to the chief executive's post.

But Mr Bowcott's high-profile departure from the firm last summer and a subsequent legal battle put paid to the move.
