Payout win

Engineering and electrical union Amicus has won a £200,000 payout for 101 of its members who were made redundant when steel fabricator Wescol went into receivership last September.

An employment tribunal ruled last week that the firm had failed to consult the union despite knowing it was in financial trouble months before its collapse.
