Persimmon swoops for Senator

Persimmon has hit the acquisition trail again after buying regional house builder Senator Homes for £25 million.
Hot on the heels of its £643 million move for Westbury, Persimmon has snapped up Senator, which has operations in in Dumfries, Lockerbie and Cumbria.

The company will strengthen Persimmon's operations in the region

and be integrated into Lancashire and West Scotland operating

businesses.

Senator Homes completed 211 new homes with an average selling price of £150,000 in 2004. It has a landbank of 800 plots.

Permission is paying £14.8 million in cash and taking on assumed debt of £10.2 million.
