PILING IN: Lancashire firm Pennine Vibropiling is carrying out its largest single project in the country on the site of the former Beckton Gas Works in east London.

The £950,000 job for Kier involves installing 5,000 vibro concrete columns to stabilise the site in readiness for main construction work to begin this summer on the Gallions Reach leisure and retail scheme being developed by Castlemore.
