Planning application submitted for 281 homes

George Wimpey has resubmitted a planning application to build homes on an undeveloped plot of land on Barford Road, Eynesbury.

The application is for 281 homes and comes after outline planning permission was granted for 200 homes on the same site in August 2006.

The housebuilder owns the 5.6-hectare site in Huntingdon and prospective plans include 88 affordable homes as well as two-bedroom flats and townhouses.

It is likely that the planning agreement will include a £500,000 contribution from George Wimpey towards local transport initiatives as well as £180,000 for education in the area.
