Plans for £100m golf course approved

Detailed plans for the £100 million redevelopment of St Mellion Golf Course in Cornwall have been approved by Caradon District Council.

The course in south-east Cornwall will get a new four-star 80-bedroom hotel, a refurbished clubhouse, 265 golf homes and a reconfigured golf course.

Its entrance will also be changed giving a new access route to the facility.

The redevelopment aims to bring the European Tour golf competition back to St Mellion and the estate's work should be completed in time for this to happen in 2009.
