Plans resubmitted for Kepier House

Kepier Homes is resubmitting a planning application to redevelop the former university student accommodation in Mayorswell Close, Durham.

Durham City Council has already refused two applications for the site, which includes the Victorian penetentiary Kepier House, from the developers - made up of Three Rivers Housing Association and Laing O’Rourke.

Earlier this year a planning appeal for 43 apartments and nine houses was lost because of a lack of affordable housing.

A city council spokeswoman said planning officials were to have discussions with the company this week and that a revised planning application would be submitted in the wake of the meeting.
