Plans unveiled for national stadium in Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure is set to unveil plans for a new national sports stadium due to be built on the former Maze prison site in County Antrim.

The plans will be shown to members of DCAL committee and there will be an opportunity for members to question the Edwin Poots, minister for culture, arts and leisure.

The proposed stadium has been designed by HOK Sport - designer for the Wembley Stadium. The plans for the 35,000-seat stadium need to get the backing of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in order to proceed.
