Police link model's sex murder to earlier attack

Detectives will today continue to probe links with the murder of model Sally Anne Bowman and another sex attack four years ago.
The stabbing and sexual assault of the blonde 18-year-old in Croydon, south London, was forensically connected with an attack on a woman in nearby Purley, police said.

Although a knife was not used in the first incident in 2001, the description given by the victim - who survived - was very similar to the man officers were seeking for the murder of Sally Anne.
