Polish building firms head for Gatwick

A SEMINAR is being held next week for Polish construction firms that want to break into the UK market.

Next Thursday's one-day meeting will be staged at the Gatwick Hilton hotel. It follows growing interest from Polish companies looking to set up in business over here.

Around 60 firms contacted Surreybased organiser Intergest with half this number expected to make the trip.

Among the firms attending from the year-old EU member state will be those who have set up operations in Germany but are looking to expand as the economy there battles slowdown and mass unemployment.

Seminar organiser Britta Burns said: 'The UK is attractive because there is a lot of work on over here and the economy is healthy.'

The seminar will let companies know the red tape barriers they will face when trying to set up a business here.

Among those due to speak will be representatives from the British Polish Chamber of Commerce.
