THE TENDER deadline for the £475 million contract to redevelop London's Wembley Stadium has been put back to January 20.
The extension by the client, Wembley National Stadium Limited, was prompted by delays caused by the Christmas shutdown. The move will give firms chasing the deal more time to provide supplementary information with their bids.
The tenderers are being asked to submit a bid of explanation and will then be asked to respond to questions from the client.
One bidder said: 'We are expecting a very quick decision.'
The line-up for the contract is: Bouygues; Bovis Lendlease/Multiplex; HBG; and Sir Robert McAlpine/Taylor Woodrow.
