Prequalifiers invited for A55 trunk road

CONTRACTORS are invited to prequalify for one of the biggest road schemes to emerge from the Welsh Office in recent months.

The scheme, to be let as a 65 million design and construct job, is the A55 trunk road upgrading project between Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll and Bryngwran in Anglesey.

Tenders documents are expected to be sent out to a shortlist of six outfits during the spring, with the Welsh Office putting a deadline of three years on completion.

The 20.25 km stretch of highway will be upgraded to dual carriageway and will feature five junctions.
