Prison probe


MPs have called for a National Audit Office probe after the Home Office agreed to pay £12.5 million compensation to prison operator GSL over the Bicester asylum centre in Oxfordshire, which was scrapped by ministers last year. Carillion was lined up to build the £60 million centre in 2003.
