READING builder Andy Maciejewski is one of the winners in Barratt's National Site Manger of the Year Awards for his management of the firm's Kensington Park site in West London.

China honour

ROGER Falconer, Hyder Professor of Environmental Water Management at Cardiff University's engineering faculty, has won a top award in China. He is only the third consultant to become High Technology Consultant of Tianjin Municipal Government.

Bright sparks

BIRMINGHAM electrical engineer Bailey Brothers has scooped its first award. The firm was presented with the Green Shamrock for identifying new markets. Aer Lingus, Birmingham International Airport and the Birmingham Evening Mail sponsor the award.

Dickie hat-trick

GLASGOW'S John Dickie Construction has notched up a hat-trick of awards for houses it built for the New Gorbals Housing Association. The Saltire Society handed out two awards for design and one for good building.

Byzak praised

n MANCHESTER firm Byzak Contractors has won the British Safety Council's top Five Star award. At a reception to mark the event, Sir Neville Purvis, the BSC's director general, said the firm 'has shown real commitment to improving health and safety in the workplace'.
