Profits drop

A dip in asphalt sales pushed UK operating profits at Aggregate Industries down £1.7 million to £46.6 million in the first half of this year.The firm's UK turnover rose £13.2 million to £440.5 million but £27.5 million of this total came from acquisitions, including East Midlands-based aggregates supplier, Wood-hall Spa Sand & Gravel.
