Queen heads north for Royal Ascot

The Queen will today be on unfamiliar turf at the start of Royal Ascot which this year is being held at York races.
It is the first time in the royal race meeting's long history that it has taken place anywhere but Ascot, a short gallop from Windsor Castle.

But redevelopment of the Berkshire course, which is owned by the Crown, has meant Royal Ascot is this year a northern affair.
