Queen to open St Pancras

The Queen will officially open the new Eurostar terminal at St Pancras this evening.

Now officially named High Speed 1, the 68-mile, £5.8 billion Channel Tunnel Rail Link will allow passengers to travel to Paris in just over two hours.

The ceremony will see three trains arriving at St Pancras International, with all three drivers meeting the Queen.

Passengers won’t be able to travel to the north London station until November 14, when the Eurostar will switch terminals.
