Railtrack waits for Tube

A GOVERNMENT announcement on Railtrack's involvement with the partial privatisation of London Underground is due next week.

The firm has approached the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions with a proposal to run the sub-surface lines.

LU is 10 days late with its preparations for the deal, known as the Public Private Partnership.

Prequalification should start later this month with an Official Journal notice and documents being sent to the 150 firms which have registered interest with LU.
