Record £455m intake for Connaught

Social housing contractor Connaught has posted a record first-half order intake of £455 million – an increase of almost one-third on the same period in 2007.

Connaught’s order intake for the first half of last year was £350 million. The figure, for the six months ending today, was released ahead of the company’s interim results, due out in April.

Chairman Mark Tincknell said: "I am very pleased with the performance of the Group so far this financial year.

"Looking ahead, we see continued exciting opportunities in both social housing and compliance as we build on our leading positions in these markets."

He said the integration of National Britannia, which the firm acquired last October for £91million, "continues to progress well".
