Record turnover and profits boost Kier

Kier booked record turnover and profits across all its divisions in the full year ended June 30 with pre -tax profits up over 40 per cent to £58 million.
Turnover marched ahead almost 10 per cent to £1.62 billion compared to £1.47 billion in 2004 and Kier;s order book stood at record levels.

Work it the construction division comprised the majority of its business with turnover up nearly 9 per cent to £1.09 billion against £1.007 billion at the same stage last year.

Growth was driven by a buoyant market and strong demand from the public sector. Construction is made up of Kier Regional - its widespread local network of companies- regional contracting, affordable housing, major building projects, infrastructure and its overseas operations.
