Recycling the roads

MATERIALS

COATINGS company Nynas has developed a range of bitumen emulsions that can be used to produce recycled asphalt.

Using the latest mix technology it has produced specialist emulsions specifically for use with recycled asphalt planings.

These emulsions enable recycled material to be mixed without heating, helping to boost the amount used within the mix.

Conventional hot mix materials can only contain 40 per cent recycled material but cold mixed techniques allow contractors to use 100 per cent recycled aggregates, Nynas claimed.
